Jaco Moretti is an American photographer who lives in New York City and in Palm Springs, California.
His work uses the figurative male nude to explore, to document and also to celebrate the lives, loves and friendships between men, and to also explore the unique places that these men call home. In particular his work focuses on the lives of men in Palm Springs, Fire Island, Provincetown, New York City, Miami and Havana, Cuba.
While celebrating the joys of physical and natural beauty, of desire, of carefree self acceptance and of freedom, Jaco Moretti’s work also hints at darker themes happening under the surface in these stunning locations. Even in these idealized destinations filled with pleasure and beauty, there are glimpses of sadness, isolation and loss.
Since publishing his first photos in 2018, Jaco Moretti has shown his work in three Palm Springs galleries: The Stephen Baumbach Gallery, Janssen Artspace, and Gamél Art Gallery.
His first book “Palm Springs” was published in 2024 and is now part of the bookstore collection at the Palm Springs Art Museum.
In November 2024, he opened his own art gallery in Palm Springs, “Jaco Moretti Arts“ which has quickly become a central part of the thriving LGBTQ+ art scene in Palm Springs.
